Safe Streets Festival Held in Monrovia

A Hedge Turnout at EU/NAO Stand
The first Safe Streets Festival has been organized by the Ministry of Transport in collaboration with the European Union and GIZ on 25th of November 2017 on Broad Street, Central Monrovia. The event took place in the framework of the European Mobility Week under the motto: "Road Safety Strengthens Economy". According to statistics, Liberia loses up to 7% its GDP due to insufficient road safety and related traffic deaths and injuries.
This one-day event aimed at promoting mobility and road safety in the transport sector of Liberia.
A fun-packed programme included a 5km run and family walk in the morning, a market space of Liberian goods, sports and cultural activities on Broad Street and was then concluded with a live concert in the evening.
